Salvia joined Bulamu in 2021 in the role of Institutional Grant Writer and Development Manager. She has been providing support with strategy development and proposal writing for Bulamu’s efforts with securing sustainable funding for its programs and activities. Salvia is a Medical Doctor and public health specialist with experience in clinical medicine, healthcare research and project management. In her medical career in India, she worked in emergency medicine and critical care, while also participating in hospital-based research.
In 2017, she moved to the USA, where she received her graduate degree in public health and postdoctoral training in the department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health from Johns Hopkins University. As a research fellow, she gained experience in designing studies, writing proposals, managing research projects and conducting data analysis. After completing her fellowship, she gained experience in global health projects in areas of reproductive health, vaccine hesitancy and mitigating the impact of COVID-19 in countries like Sierra Leone, India and Papua New Guinea. She has presented her research work in multiple publications and international conferences.
